Updating firmware on blu ray

I have a Sony BD-350 and i am tryin to do the firmware update to the .015. Is the only way to do it is to hook it up to the internet via ethernet cable?

i tried doing it via flash drive but when i put it in i get nothing. On a side note blurays looks great with this player Hello everyone!

It also allows Netflix and other streaming companies to update their capabilities and have Blu-ray players take advantage of it.

One of the major reasons for firmware updates, though, is copy protection.

Please download the firmware from the web and perform the USB memory update.

For more information, please see the Download and Transfer the Update File to Your USB Storage Device section.

With all the features and copy protection on Blu-ray discs, players need routine updating to be compatible with new titles. After the updating is complete, your Sony player will eject the disc and power itself down. This ensures that the firmware will be active when you next use your player. You may think things are going wrong, but it just takes a little while. You'll see the steps progressing along on the player's fluorescent display.
